Oundle Primary School Feast of Literature
Pupils at Oundle Primary School recently enjoyed an amazing feast of literature. Staff organised many different World Book Day activities for the children to take part in, and everyone dressed up as a book character on the theme of “Fairy Tales”. The children were able to benefit from being taught by different teachers across the school and they all took home the things they had made so that they could share their experiences with their families.
As always, Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 enjoyed attending author events at the Oundle Festival of Literature. Highlights were Lynne Chapman, Steve Cole and Bel Mooney, who delighted all with a visit from her pooch, Bonnie. Donations from wearing non-uniform at the school raised a total of £116.50, which went to Book Aid International, a charity which helps provide access to books and supports literacy, education and development in sub-Saharan Africa.
Oundle Primary School was also successful at the Oundle Festival of Music and Drama, where all KS2 children took part, gaining valuable experience in performing. In the Junior Music section, pupils from the school won ‘Instrumental Ensemble 9 & under’, ‘School Choirs 10 & under’, and the ‘Brudnell Cup for under-11 choirs’.
