Matthew Pearson, 31, of Bellamy Road, Oundle was recently jailed for crashing his car when he failed to slow down for a roundabout. It was reported that he was driving his BMW, while under the influence of alcohol, at over 100 miles an hour when he hit the Warmington roundabout on the A605.

The consequences of this tragic accident were serious injuries for the passengers, Bethan Phillips and Tom Costello. While Tom escaped with a minor neck injury, Bethan, who was without the protection of a seatbelt, was left with severe injuries, and is now confined to a wheelchair.

The repercussions of this incident was the imprisonment of Mr. Pearson, whose actions have caused much grief in the community.
