Oundle Town : 40
Tries: Joe Rice (3), Danny Rutter (2), Lee Green
Conversions: Lee Green (5)
Stamford College Old Boys :19

Oundle started the game at a real intense pace and were 28 points to the good in as many minutes. The most impressive being a hat trick from Joe Rice in the first 20 minutes. Four minutes in he made an excellent break through some weak tackling and crossed under the posts. Lee Green converted easily. He added a second as the forwards set up a driving maul under the opposition’s posts and the flanker dived over with Green converting again. Scrum half Danny Rutter was next on the score sheet on 18 minutes with a sniping break and Rice was back to cross the line two minutes later. Green converted both efforts. Oundle made some changes and lost a bit of momentum, Stamford College also upped their game and clawed back a try with a good break from their fly half finished off by their full back. The half-time score was 28 – 7. The second half Oundle again started to dominate and Lee Green increased the lead crashing over the line following quick phase play on 55 minutes. Stamford College got their second try after ten minutes of decent territory, after being held up once; they scored in the corner with a rolling maul. They were now gaining momentum as a dropped pass was collected by the full back for College and he ran clear. The conversion to took the score to 35 – 19. The last word belonged to Rutter though as he powered over for his second try although this one was not converted by Green. The game was a nice finish to the season with some familiar names returning to the side for the last game. Simon Queensborough, Michael Griffiths and Austin Schwarz all featuring in the backs.Prior to this game Oundle had lost 5-0 to Aylestone Athletic in their last competitive match of the season on the 12th April and lost 22-7 to Market Harborough on 29th March.
