Local Ski Star

Despite three times having her first event delayed, Jessica Anderson, 8, started the competitive ski season in style while racing in the Inter-Schools Challenge in Les Houches, Chamonix in March and carried her form on throughout the summer.

Representing Warmington Primary School, Jessica, competing in the Mini 1 category, achieved first position in both the Slalom and the Giant Slalom, whilst setting the fastest times for both the girls’ and boys’ competition. Continued…

New Hope for the Leeson Family

The Leeson family have been given a new lease of hope recently after several antagonizing months of waiting for a suitable bone marrow donor for their seven month old daughter.

Lana Leeson was diagnosed with an extremely rare blood disease, Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a condition which can cause fever, enlargement of the liver and a fall in the number of normal blood cells. This disease is so rare that it only affects one in a million. If a bone marrow donor could not be found, her condition was likely to get much worse.

Walking 20,000 Miles for Charity

Robin Moore is a marathon walker. This passion for walking started when he went on a walk for a cancer charity as a tribute to a friend who had died from the disease. Since then Robin has walked over 20,000 miles, raising a total of £50,000 for 18 different charities.

Robin has walked in many countries including New Zealand, South Africa, Spain and France. His latest trip, which started on the 14th of September, is a 1000 mile walk from Ireland to the Cornish coast. So far he has sponsorship totalling over £1000, which will be split between Cornwall Hospice care and cancer research. This walk finishes on the 13th of October at Lands End.
